Symptoms vary depending on size, location, and tissue of origin.
However in general, sarcoma is frequently asymptomatic during its early stages, so the tumors are generally large at presentation. However, in the latter stages of some bone sarcomas, there may be swelling or persistent pain in the bone or area around it. In soft tissue sarcomas, a soft tissue tumor may perhaps be felt initially as a painless lump. However with continued growth of the tumor, discomfort may ensue as it begins to press against nerves or muscles around it. In a few cases if the tumor has advanced significantly, then systemic symptoms may occasionally be experienced and include fever, nausea and vomiting, weight loss, and fatigue.
