Carrie Bergmans, Assistant
Carrie joined SARC in July, 2007 as a part-time Assistant. She is currently a senior at the University of Michigan. Carrie has interest in becoming a physician assistant. Carrie has been working on activating our website as well as providing support for day to day office operations during the recent transition of staff.

Denise Brosch, BS, Accounting Assistant
Denise joined SARC in October, 2007 as our accounting assistant. She has a BS degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University. Denise has over twenty years of accounting experience, most recently as the Accounting Manager at the Ann Arbor Art Center. With the increasing complexity of fee schedules and payments associated with our projects, Denise will be providing support to our Finance Manager.
Karen Brown, BS, Administrative Assistant
Karen joined SARC in October, 2007 and is the Administrative Assistant. She has a BS in administrative management from Eastern Michigan University. Karen has almost thirty years of administrative experience, most recently as an administrative assistant in various departments at the Ann Arbor campus of Pfizer Global Research and Development. Karen provides support for activities related to the day to day operations of SARC.
Daniela Gula, BS, Assistant Research Project Manager
Daniela joined SARC in November 2007 as Assistant Research Project Manager. She has a BA in Organizational Communication from Eastern Michigan University and is working toward completion of her MBA through Baker College. Daniela comes to us most recently from Pfizer Global Research and Development, Ann Arbor, as a Project Manager. She brings more than ten years experience and currently assists with the ongoing activities on SARC011, our first global collaboration.
Kathleen Marsh, BS, Research Project Manager
Kathleen joined SARC in December, 2006 and is a Research Project Manager. She has a BS degree in Chemistry from Cleveland State University and a BS in Marine Science from Hawaii Pacific University. Kathleen has over fourteen years of experience in project/data management, most recently in database development at the University of Michigan’s Center for the Advancement of Clinical Research. Kathleen currently manages activities related to SARC 004, SARC 005, SARC 007 and SARC 009. She has also provided support for SARC 003 and SARC 006 during the recent staff transitions.
Jessica Reed, Ph.D., Research Project Manager
Jessica joined SARC in September, 2007 as a Research Project Manager. She has a BS in Chemical Sciences and a Ph.D. in chemistry from The University of Leeds. She did a postdoc at the University of Rochester. Jessica has over fifteen years of experience, most recently worked as a Senior Principal Scientist at the Ann Arbor campus of Pfizer Global Research and Development. Jessica will be responsible for managing SARC 011, our first global collaboration.
Pedro Tan, MBA MS, Research Project Manager
Pedro joined SARC in early 2008 as a Research Project Manager. He brings over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, most recently as a Senior Associate Scientist at Pfizer Inc. in Ann Arbor. He graduated with an MBA degree from Michigan State University and an MS degree in Quality Assurance/Regulatory Affairs from Temple University, PA. Pedro is currently responsible for managing SARC 006 and SARC 012.
