The most recent SARC meeting was held just prior the 45th Annual ASCO meeting, May 29 – June 2, 2009 in Orlando, FL (Rosen Center). There were over 150 physicians and study personnel in attendance.

1. Rosenfeld/Chawla lectureship featured Dr. Steven Rosenberg presenting compelling data from ongoing clinical trial at NCI where he is studying nyeso1 in multiple tumor types including synovial sarcoma
2. Physicians discuss the development of a World Sarcoma Network to serve as collaborative platform between cooperative sarcoma clinical research groups world-wide

3. SARC004, a study of imatinib in DFSP complete and plans being developed to study pre and post treatment tumor samples obtained. Dr Fletcher, Brigham Women’s Hospital, shared insights into possible correlatives to be considered to maximize information learned from these important tissue samples
